K-Factor and unbend
« on: July 23, 2011, 06:07:48 AM »

Hello in there

I make many drawings with metal plates and would like to see that there would be an opportunity to unbend solid (example if you design a truncated cone) and so could produce a flat pattern easily afterwards (laser cutting) ...

The same goes for when you need to calculate how big the plate must be cut out before it gets bent in a hydraulic press with many different angles.

It has given me problems because I can not find an option to set the K-factor at different plate thicknesses from 2-20 mm. Have only opportunity to determine bending radius and degrees, hmm?

It would just be super nice if all of the above problems could be solved for me, and it is high on the wish list. It could well be that it's something I just have not figured out to do in TurboCAD Pro Mac.

Help me please with this if I am wrong here :P

Best regards

Hello again

I'll try to explain the K-factor of a better way.

I think that in the American language, it is called bend allowance, and it might give you a better sense of my question.

Hi Macboy,

Take a look at this thread.

TC does not have an unfold tool but this method may work for you.
