Creating guitar plans
« on: December 13, 2011, 02:21:04 PM »

I build a folk stringed instrument from Puerto Rico and would like to create the plans for it based on how I build it.  I got TurboCad for Mac about a year ago and between one thing and the other have not come around to creating these, since when I started, it took a hell of a lot more time than I thought it would take.  Any guidance or resources I can get to learn how to create these plans.

Is it possible to scan a picture of your instruments and then overlay the drawing first.  Actually, I dont even have a clue where to start.  :) Therefore I am open to suggestions.

Hi Riverainstruments,

The Turbo Tech Blog has a tutorial link I think you would like, one of the projects is a guitar. Its a bit dated but it will get you started.

Thanks Mitch, I'll get cracking with it and see where I get with the tutorial.  :)
