Creating a .PDF file.
« on: January 25, 2012, 08:16:23 AM »

When using a Macintosh computer and TurboCAD Mac there are two ways to create PDF files.

The first way to create a .PDF file is to use the export functionality built into TurboCAD Mac.  This will create vector type .PDF file.  When creating a Vector format .PDF some geometry in the drawing file may not be supported in this type of file conversion.

To export a drawing to a .PDF file, first select file in the main menu then select export in the drop down menu. Once this is done select the .PDF file format to be exported then name the .PDF file to Exported then select the OK button.  Give the .PDF file a name then save the .PDF file.

The second way to Save a .PDF file is using the built in .PDF creator built in to the Macintosh operating system. When creating a .PDF file using this technique the .PDF file will be created as a Raster image .PDF file.  When creating a Raster image file all elements of the drawing being used to create the .PDF file are captured in the newly created .PDF file as an image.

To create this type of .PDF file go to file in the main menu and select print. Once the print is selected the print dialog box will open here select .PDF then select save as .PDF in the drop down.
When creating a .PDF file using either techniques, the drawing page size, scale and orientation to the paper size selected will need to be set in the page layout before creating the .PDF file.
