Bug - selection mask failure
Read 3600 times

Trying to select dimensions only, wasn't working, grabbed everything.

Playing with it, it appears that in the select mask window, if I have all types selected and click on Dimension, so that it only is highlighted, it still selects everything.  (Going from the state all types selected --> dimension only).

But if I clear the selection before, by clicking on white space below, it works. (Going from the state all types selected --> no types selected --> dimension only).

How about the (control) right clicking? will that activate the select dimensions?

Also, after I do this sometimes it crashes.  Attached is a subset of my drawing that has had this problem also.

Bob Borcherding,

I have been unable to duplicate the reported issue.

When using the selection mask is the dimension being selected, layer 1 and color black?

attached are screenshots of both screens, showing Explorer, Mask, Inspector and Snaps.  Note the selection (red items) made with these settings.

I am having other issues with this, I have my main drawing I've been working on, but I copied some of it over to the Selection Example.tcp file.

Then I reopened my original file, and they were somehow merged?  I was not able to duplicate the merging (where the original drawing was in the Selection Example file, but I could duplicate the following, with screenshots).

I only saw one file in the window list, but when I closed the Select Example.tcp file, the original file was still there, even though not listed in the Window Menu.

Screen shots showing this:

Bob Borcherding,

When using the selection mask to select only the dimension in the selection mask only select dimension, layer 1 and color black.

Does this only select the dimensions?

Bob Borcherding,

Two files can merge if a drawing file is imported into an existing open file.

Thank you for reporting the windows issue. This issue has been documented in the following post.

Bob Borcherding,

I have been unable to duplicate the selection issue. Which build version of the application is installed?  Please also attach the full drawing file for review.

Not willing to post my work in a public forum.  I could provide it in a pm.

Bob! one thing I see there , is the working layer (import) is set @ layer 1- I adjust to construction layer and run that about 99% of the time maybe that will help.
