This one should be easy to implement:

When a pre-defined view is selected - Top, Front, Bottom, etc. - how about showing it somewhere in the prompt bar?

I've got command keys defined to select each of these (through OSX's System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard shortcuts, since TC Mac Pro v8's Short Cut Manager doesn't seem to handle the control/option/command key modifiers); but I can't always remember whether command-5 is Left or Right, and for a part that's externally symmetric it's sometimes hard to tell...

You might try working in Viewports, those views are named. Yes, the modifiers are not available but function keys are, just type F + the number and remember to use the fn key when selecting.

Enjoy
