Can't get negative twist angles to work for One Rail Sweep Solid

TurboCad Mac Deluxe 10 build 1317
MacOS 10.12.6

I am trying to extrude a solid that is basically a screw shape. I need a left hand thread so I entered in a negative Twist angle.

After extrusion it is always a right hand thread and the negative number I entered changed to positive.

I have tried this numerous times with simple shapes with the same results.

Is this a known bug/limitation?

Thanks.

I figured out a kludge work-around.

Select the profile to extrude and enter the Twist Angle and finally select the path. The solid is extruded as a right hand thread (positive Twist Angle) independent of what was entered.

Then using the Inspector window, select the solid just created. Change the Twist Angle from positive to negative and apply.

The solid will modify so that it is now a left hand thread.

It would appear the Twist Angle in the menu bar at the time of creation does not work properly. The one in the Inspector Box does work, but just take more time as it is a multi-step operation. Unfortunately, it means I will have to redo all of my work.

Hi Chris,

Sorry I missed this question.

There are two ways to make what you want. First, there is a Twist tool. Second is the Helix tool that has a check box for a right-hand twist (default) or un-check it for a left-hand twist.

Could you post a screen shot of what you want to twist?

Enjoy
Mitch
